The Bayous have been on the road in Denmark since 1987 - a long succession of worn-out cars and trailers show that the band has played at big and small venues all over the country. Through the years they have also toured the Faroe Islandes, Hong Kong, Holland and Belgium. The Bayous have released 2 live-CDs and one "good old" Studio CD. The Bayous play their own interpretation of traditional Cajun and Zydeco music as it is played in the swamp regions of Louisiana. The unofficial difference between the two types of music is that Cajun is the white people´s folk music, and so it is based on Country and Folk wherwas Zydeco is the black people´s music with echoes of the Blues.

   The five members of The Bayous  come from the mainland of Denmark (Jutland) and although they are white they have "black souls", and that´s the reason that their repertoire has become a "hot mix" of these musical styles. One thing for certain: The Bayous always play festive and colourful music.

   If you would like to hear The Bayous live they are ready to open their 15th season in high spirits and raring to go. As always the motto is: No venue is too big or too small for The Bayous.
